Art & Quilting
I started making a quilt for my niece when she was born in 1978 and finished it for her 31st birthday! I then made quilts for my children from their Dad's clothes, wishing I had done it after he had passed, when they were little as it would have been comforting for them. Better late then never! I finished a quilt that my son and I had started working on when he was younger, and put it in the East Bay Heritage Quilt Guild "Voices in Cloth" quilt show in 2010 and have been quilting ever since! I have made close to 60 quilted pieces of art, large and small. I have 12 children's quilts finished, and have more ready to put together.
I am eclectic, offering a wide range of art for people, both beautiful and practical, because I know people are a whole variety of wonderful!! My goal is something for everyone. Well, there is art I won't make, hopefully you will find what you want somewhere if you don't see it here.
The top box are quilts, wall hangings, projects that have been sold.
The middle box are quilts I've made for family, friends, community projects, and myself to show the range of projects I've done in the past; some can be commissioned to do what is meaningful to you.
The bottom box are the items you will find in my shop to gift to yourself & loved ones. For many more products, please go back to the shop and click on individual pages to see what's in the various categories. Enjoy!
Double click on the photos to see a full version of the pieces. The slide show can continue from there with explanations.
Some artists create a style they work within. I love to bring forth a variety, play with what I have in my fabric "stash", adding when needed, ideas that come to me, what I think people would need or want, such as children's cozy quilts, adult lap quilts, wall hangings, or pot holders, aprons, table cloths, totes, tissue holders, etc.
I think t-shirt quilts are important to people, to remember their experiences or loved ones.
I am making warm curtains for tiny homes.
I've enjoyed using multimedia and plan to do more of that.
Is there something you don't see here you would like to have? Is there something you see that you'd like to have in a particular way? Please ask!
This is a quilt I made for my "grand daughter", a friend of our family who calls me Grandma Lisa. Her mom told me that she immediately took off the blanket she had been cuddling with since infancy and has been sleeping with this quilt since! I'm happy that she's happy!
This pair of placemats which are the same, as well as the next two slides that also are pairs of Christmas placemats, were bought by a friend after they were entered into my quilt guild's "marketplace" at our Voices in Cloth quilt show in 2014.
The quilting on the back. The woman who bought this knows this quote well and is giving it as a meaningful gift to another who loves it!

My children's dad passed on when they were very young. I made quilts for them from his meaningful t-shirts, this one for my son.

My daughter was going to visit her college roommate before her baby was born. The day she was to leave, her friend gave birth and my daughter got to be there to help her! She now has a precious goddaughter! I sent this blanket along as a gift.

With this quilt I send peaceful hopes and wishes to the children and animals who are being affected by things adults are doing all over the planet. May they be safe, fed, housed, cared for, allowed to live freely and with excellent health, clean air, water, soil, plants. May we all steward the earth in the best ways possible with awareness and love.

When I moved into my tiny house that I built, I had to take pictures out of large frames because there weren't enough blank wall to hang things, nor did I want the weight of wood or metal frames and glass. I decided to create "frames" around paintings and photos. I'd like to do this for people moving into tiny houses or downsizing in general.
