What a different time we are living in!!!

This will be short for now, I am amazed at what is happening in our world. It stopped for a minute, some of us are still sequestered in our homes, working at being safe and contributing to making this thing go away!!

Some of us are refusing to do that, talking about freedom. I have thought of all the things that we are not "free" to do. We have to wear seat belts unlike when I was a child. We have to stop at stop lights so we don't crash into each other. We are not allowed to just go killing each other, though there are definitely some who believe they must have the freedom to do so.

So why do some people think they don't have to wear masks? Because their leader says they don't have to? To me, it's just logic. Don't you want your dentist to wear a mask when he or she is working on your mouth? Don't you want your nurse and doctor to wear a mask when there is a risk of infection? Then of course we should be wearing masks to not infect each other!!

THANK YOU to the thousands of people sewing masks to send to vulnerable people. To give to family members and friends. We sewers are happy to make these masks, happy to wear them, happy to help each other. May the ones who are mostly thinking of themselves come around to understanding how they are contributing to the continuance of this virus, and not contributing to the ending of it or even the slowing of it.

May we all be thankful for the smallest gifts in our lives, and keep the faith that we will all get through this. And may the ones who have lost loved ones to the virus be held in support and love.

And I am very grateful for all the changes happening for Black Lives, for decency, for morality, for justice! May we keep speaking up, standing up, and may the changes keep coming!!!
